Christmas Trees Today: Is It Live or Is It Plastic?
(PRWeb) December 1, 2006 -- ChristmasTreeTown.com discusses the relationship between a family, a real Christmas tree and an artificial pre-lit Christmas tree and how the artificial tree kept one family happy over the holidays.
The Holiday season is undoubtedly a favorite time of the year for most; a time to sit by a warm crackling fire, a time to sip warm cider or rich eggnog and let seasonal sweets linger on your tongue. Certainly, it's the time of the year to gather those who mean the most around us in love and to toast to more years together.
"And the time of year for husbands and wives to be at each other's throats as they try to setup the new Christmas tree," says Jason Wencel, of ChristmasTreeTown.com.
"In my family, my mom picked out the tree and my dad was always responsible for getting it home and setting the thing up. We watched on as he'd struggle to nudge the leaky rusty stand under the shedding plant with his foot -- biting his lip as he cursed under its weight," Mr. Wencel chuckles as he adds, "I could always learn a few new swear words each Christmas if I listened hard enough."
"I have to hand it to my mom, she could pick out the most beautiful, the largest, and the heaviest tree in the whole lot -- and we all watched as my dad gave it the once over before he got on his hands and knees with the dull hacksaw the lot provided."
According to Mr. Wencel, this was only the beginning. "My dad was responsible for setting up the tree, but the year the stand slowly leaked water into the wood floor and buckled the boards, well we all got to experience a tense few hours of 'discussion' between mom and dad about just who's responsibility that was."
As years went by and artificial Christmas trees became commonplace in the home, those tense debates didn't subside says Mr. Wencel. "My mother was never really happy with the look and feel of the old artificial trees, who was really? And my dad, he was happy to lose the hassle of dragging a hundred pound weight around, happy that is, until he had to assemble the thing. He'd sit for hours with those reading glasses on, trying to insert branches and position the alien looking object into some recognizable shape. In the end, we'd be sure to drown the thing in enough ornaments and tinsel so mom wouldn't sit and stare in shame before relatives and neighbors came over."
Mr. Wencel considers these repeated Holiday memories to be the inspiration for ChristmasTreeTown.com and the innovative pre-lit artificial Christmas tree products they sell. "For 25 years, we've been producing and selling artificial Christmas trees that we continually work to improve -- every year they get a little better, and every year we receive more and more enthusiastic letters from our customers," Mr. Wencel adds.
ChristmasTreeTown produces a tree that looks so real because they start with real Christmas trees, "we actually take molds of live trees, down to the tiniest details, right to the texture of the needles - all so we can produce a precise pre-lit replica that looks and even feels exactly like the real thing. All that's missing are the needles on the floor, and of course, the three hour argument every year. We test and test and test our products to ensure they assemble the fastest and the easiest; the hinged-branches literally fall right into place. Like all parents, mine could turn anything into an argument during the Holidays, but I've designed a product they could be proud of and would choose for their own home."
In celebration for upcoming Holiday season, ChristmasTreeTown.com is announcing a 15% discount on all trees in stock -- simply enter the code "rickysentme" when you checkout to receive the savings on the already low prices.
