"A Princeton Christmas" Album for Africa Hunger Relief Available at the iTunes Store
Princeton, N.J.(PRWEB) November 19, 2007 -- The iTunes Store, the world's most popular online music store, is part of the distribution network for the debut album, "A Princeton Christmas: For the Children of Africa", a stirring 20-song holiday collection featuring eight Princeton, New Jersey student choral groups.
"The iTunes Store dramatically and immediately expands the reach of this unique fund raising effort that directly benefits the School Feeding campaign of the United Nations World Food Program in Africa through the Friends of the World Food Program," says project organizer Tom Meagher. "iTunes helps bring the music and mission together: you easily download the entire album and at the same time provide what it costs to feed an African child for about one month."
Signature selections on the album (also available in CD at www.princetonchristmas.org) are performed by The American Boychoir; The Princeton Girlchoir; Chapel Choir of Princeton University; The Westminster Concert Bell Choir and Westminster Choir of the Westminster Choir College of Rider University; The Tartantones of Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart; The Princeton Day School Choir Madrigal Singers; and The Princeton High School Choir.
Shirley M. Tilghman, President of Princeton University and a one-time secondary school teacher in Sierra Leone, West Africa, said, "Princeton University is proud to be part of this remarkable grassroots initiative to help the children of Africa. The music is enchanting and inspirational, and the message of hope and love is immensely powerful."
